I made these gloves last Christmas (2005) for a very important woman in my life, my Aunt Judy, who loves the color purple.
They were the very first pair of gloves I ever made and I’m still a little amazed they came out as well as they did. Part of the credit for my success certainly must go to the pattern–from Holiday Knits by Sara Lucas and Allison Isaacs–which was very well-written and incredibly easy to follow.
These gloves were knitted with size 1 double-pointed needles and Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk yarn in plum (color 128), a much darker, deeper purple than this photo suggests.
